Freshworks to Enter S&P SmallCap 600 on October 8
Freshworks will replace BioLife Solutions in the S&P SmallCap 600 before trading opens Oct. 8, triggered by an acquisition of BioLife.
Freshworks Inc. is set to join the S&P SmallCap 600 index effective before the opening bell on Thursday, October 8, 2026, according to an announcement from S&P Dow Jones Indices. The cloud-based software company, traded on Nasdaq under the ticker FRSH, will take the index slot currently occupied by BioLife Solutions Inc.
BioLife Solutions is being removed from the benchmark because S&P MidCap 400 constituent Repligen Corp. has agreed to acquire the company. Index rules require that acquisition targets be removed when the deal is sufficiently advanced, creating the vacancy that Freshworks will fill.

Index inclusions often draw attention from passive fund managers and exchange-traded fund operators that are required to track the benchmark, which can generate buying pressure on the newly added stock around the effective date. Freshworks, which develops customer engagement and IT service management software, had not previously been a component of any major S&P U.S. equity index.
BioLife Solutions, which supplies biopreservation media and related products to the life sciences industry, will exit the SmallCap 600 as its pending acquisition by Repligen advances. Repligen itself remains a constituent of the S&P MidCap 400.
