SWFI Launches I20 Summit Alongside G20, Targets $5T in US Capital
The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute will host its inaugural I20 Summit in Miami in December 2026, aiming to deploy $5 trillion in US investment.
The Sovereign Wealth Fund Institute (SWFI) announced plans to host the first-ever I20 Summit concurrent with the G20 leaders' meeting, bringing together sovereign wealth funds, pension funds, and institutional investors from across the globe in a bid to channel $5 trillion in capital into the United States.
The five-day event is scheduled to run from December 11 through 15, 2026, in Miami, Florida, running parallel to the G20 heads-of-state summit at Trump National Doral. The dual-track format is designed to place institutional capital decision-makers in direct proximity to the world's most consequential government leaders at the same moment.

Participants are expected to represent sovereign and institutional investors spanning all G20 nations as well as allied countries, reflecting the breadth of state-affiliated capital that SWFI seeks to mobilize. The $5 trillion deployment target underscores the scale of cross-border investment the institute envisions flowing into US markets and infrastructure through this initiative.
The I20 Summit concept positions institutional investors as a parallel diplomatic force to complement government-level G20 negotiations — a structure that, if successful, could formalize a new channel for coordinating large-scale public capital with national economic policy. The Miami venue places the event at a geographic and symbolic crossroads between North American finance and Latin American G20 partners.
