Troilus Gold-Copper Project Secures $850M Debt Financing Commitment
KfW IPEX-Bank and Société Générale have committed to underwrite $850M in debt for Troilus Mining's Quebec gold-copper project.
Troilus Mining Corp. has received a credit-approved commitment letter from KfW IPEX-Bank and Société Générale to underwrite $850 million in debt financing for the development of its Troilus gold-copper project in Quebec, Canada, the company announced Sept. 28, 2026.
The commitment forms part of a broader $1.1 billion total debt financing package under consideration. The remaining $250 million is a proposed contribution from Export Development Canada, subject to EDC's final approvals, according to the announcement.

The Troilus project, located in Quebec, is being advanced by Troilus Mining Corp., which trades on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker TLG, on the OTCQX under CHXMF, and on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange under CM5. The involvement of KfW IPEX-Bank, Germany's export and project finance institution, alongside French bank Société Générale signals broad international institutional backing for the Canadian mining development.
Securing credit-approved commitments at this scale represents a significant de-risking milestone for junior and mid-tier mining developers, typically unlocking subsequent permitting and construction timelines. The full debt package, if finalized including EDC's participation, would position the Troilus gold-copper project among the more substantially financed new mine developments in Canada in recent years.
